- California Fertilizer Foundation, $1,200
- California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom Literacy for Life, $500-$1,500, This website regularly lists leads on gardening grants.
- Jamba Juice, $100-$1,500
- Project Learning Tree, $1,000
- Lowe’s Toolbox for Education, $5,000
- Target, up to $700 for field trips
- U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Schoolyard Habitat Program, $5,000
- Whole Kids Foundation, $2,000
- REAL School Gardens, national organization that helps low-income elementary schools build gardens and provide professional development to teachers.
- California’s Farm to School Program
- USDA Farm to School Grant Program, California Departments of Education, Health Services, and Food and Agriculture working to link local farmers with school cafeterias.
- California Department of Education searchable funding database
- Master Gardener Association of San Diego County, opportunities for grants and awards for San Diego-area school gardeners. Check out the list even if you aren’t in San Diego County as many of the grants listed are not local.
- Western Growers Foundation Collective School Garden Network, website lists many grants and fundraiser ideas for school gardening.
- Seeds of Change, Requires you get people to vote on your proposal.
- National Agriculture in the Classroom, Resources and ag facts good for helping write grants. Also, sometimes has grants available.
- Annie’s Homegrown, The pasta company has a website that includes grants, ag scholarships, and resources for school gardening.
- Farmers Insurance, Thank America’s Teachers program, $2500 and $100,000 grants for teacher projects; requires you get people to vote on your proposal on Facebook.
