Training at Soil Born Farms

Training at Soil Born Farms

Looking for a way to change your school’s blacktop out and plant some native California vegetation instead? Want a fun summer training that could qualify you for grant money next school year? I received an e-mail from Karleen Vollherbst, coordinator of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Schoolyard Habitat Program earlier this week. The curriculum training is back this summer.

Schoolyard Habitat and Project Learning Tree curriculum training is scheduled for June 21 and 22 at Soil Born Farms in Rancho Cordova.

I went through the training at Soil Born Farms a couple of summers ago with my teenage daughter. Not many things entice my daughter to crawl out of bed when school isn’t in session, but this one did. I’ll look for my photos of the training and post them later.

For more information on this training, please check out the flyer Karleen sent.
